The cable corner / printable pairs
Give both ends a name.
Create two matching paper labels for each of up to six cables. Use a device name and a job, such as “Desk screen · video”. Your text stays in this page.
Your label sheet
Three example names are supplied. Edit them, then make your sheet.
MyDeskFrog / matching cable labels
Print on plain paper. Two labels per cable. Cut carefully and secure with a suitable label holder; keep vents, connectors and manufacturer markings clear.
Paper layout: 65 × 20 mm per label, two columns. Use A4 portrait and 100% scale if your browser supports it. Preview before printing; this is not a template for a particular adhesive sheet.
Name the purpose, not just the connector
Three identical-looking USB plugs can have different jobs. “Keyboard · USB” gives more useful information than “USB cable”. If you move between a dock and a laptop, mark the device end and the destination end with the same pair number. A name does not certify a cable’s power or data capability.
Leave the connection accessible
Use suitable cable tags or holders on a cool, accessible part of the cable without crushing it. Do not put paper over a power supply, vent, connector or safety marking. Follow device and accessory instructions. These labels organise identification; they are not electrical safety labels.
