The measuring corner / centimetres

Will the two zones fit?

A simple top-down footprint check for a rear screen-base zone and a front keyboard-and-mouse zone. Enter the outer rectangles you need, including any accessories in each zone.

Your measurements

All values are in centimetres. Decimals are welcome. Measure the support footprint, not the screen diagonal.

The footprint check

The example inputs describe a 100 × 60 cm desk. Press the button to calculate; they are illustrative, not recommended dimensions.

What the sketch means

The rear zone is followed by the gap, then the front zone. Both rectangles align to the left margin. Required width is the larger zone width plus two edge margins. Required depth is the two zone depths, the gap and two edge margins. The sketch scales both axes equally; the labelled dimensions are the measurements to use.

What still needs a real-world check

This is two-dimensional arithmetic. It does not assess reach, posture, viewing distance, accessibility, desk strength, mounting suitability or electrical safety. A screen can overhang its base; plugs, vents, desk cut-outs and cable bends may need additional space. Use manufacturer instructions and a cardboard mock-up before buying. For a laptop-only desk, use its complete footprint as the rear zone and the separate input equipment as the front zone; this tool still requires two non-zero zones.
